Should I wash my hair before the wedding?

For most wedding styles, the ideal prep is to wash your hair the day before your wedding, then let it fully dry and avoid heavy products. Hair that’s too clean (like same-day washed) can be slippery and harder to hold curls, volume, or pins—while day-old hair has just enough texture to work with beautifully.

Make sure your hair is 100% dry before your appointment  If you have very fine or oily hair, your artist may suggest a light wash the morning of—but only if discussed ahead of time!

should I get a spray tan?

Only if it feels like you to do so! A spray tan can give you a healthy, even glow—especially in photos—but it’s completely optional. The goal isn’t to look like a different version of yourself, just a slightly more radiant one.

If you’re considering it, here’s how to do it right:
Do a trial tan first (ideally a few months before) so there are no surprises
Schedule your tan 2–3 days before the wedding so it has time to settle and look natural
Choose a shade that’s subtle and buildable—overly dark tones can look unnatural in certain lighting.

how long does bridal makeup last?

Bridal makeup is designed to last 10–16+ hours, from your first photo to your final dance. We use long-wear, professional products and strategic layering techniques to make sure everything stays in place through heat, humidity, happy tears, and a full day of celebrating.

That said, a few small touch-ups are completely normal so you'll have a touchup kit available:
- Lip color will fade after eating and drinking
- A light blot or powder may help with shine later in the day
- Tears (the good kind) might need a quick check under the eyes

The number of artists you’ll need really comes down to your timeline and how many people are getting services. On average, one artist can handle about 4–6 hair services or 5–7 makeup services, based on roughly 45–60 minutes per person. When planning, we consider your ceremony time, how early you want to start, and the overall size of your group to make sure the morning feels smooth and relaxed—not rushed. If your party is larger or your timeline is tighter, adding an extra artist can make all the difference in keeping everything flowing effortlessly so you can truly enjoy your getting-ready experience.
